In the shade of a tree hides a golden branch, with shining leaves and flexible wood; the forest covers it and the chiaroscuro of the light guards it.
Nemoris is simply the name Andrea chose for a creative project which – thanks to the artisanal expertise characteristic of the oldest Neapolitan tradition of the Borgo Orefici – has become an ambitious design venture.
Thanks to meticulous attention to detail – which only the expert hands of an artisan can guarantee – and constant trend research, Nemoris grants the privilege of exclusivity in lines and shapes that are always original to anyone who wears its jewellery.
Utilising cutting-edge technologies, which accompany creation without ever prevailing over the uniqueness of the manual labour that puts the finishing touches to the jewel, Nemoris manages to boast the ambition of a major brand while keeping the nature of a traditional artisan workshop completely intact.
Nature, the most elegant of jewels. Colours and reflections create perfect shades, while shadows and lights outline unique curves, lines and details. The aesthetic perfection of the combination of Nature's elements is the inspiration for Nemoris.
THE NEMORIS BRAND
Nemi and Nemoris are evocative names linked to the Latin noun “grove” (= woods).
In particular, Nemi is a Latin place name that designates the lake on whose shores the temple of Diana stood: the entire surrounding woods were consecrated to the goddess of the woods and of the hunt. The legend of the Golden Bough, reported by Virgil, is linked to the woods of Nemi.
Legend has it that Aeneas, in order to descend into Hades and be certain of being able to return from the Underworld, on the advice of the Cumaean Sibyl set off in search of the Golden Bough, which could only be plucked by one who was worthy of it. The bough, sacred to Proserpina, the queen of the underworld, was hidden in a dense wood: once found, it would detach itself from the plant only if Fate was favourable to his descent into the Underworld.
But before it is permitted to go beneath the earth, one must pluck from the tree the golden-haired branch. Pull it away with your hand: it will come away by itself, easily, if the fates call you; if not, you will be able neither to subdue it with any force, nor to hack it off with hard iron.
